Carrion Witch Release New Video, Prepare To Record Follow Up
Over a year has passed since Carrion Witch contributed to the inaugural volume of the Sun Serpent Split Series, which also marks their most recent output of new material. As they prepare to record the follow up to 2014's "Those of Whom I Speak" it was decided to close out the promotional cycle for that album with a video for the song "Human Wax Candle in a Yellowed Window".
Intercutting gritty live footage from a November 2014 performance alongside selected scenes from the 1922 Swedish silent classic "Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages", the new video presents a haunting blend of early visual occultism and extreme metal.
"Someone shot some live footage of us that had a very Texas-Chainsaw-Massacre-quality to it," explains Mike. "It was a shame to let it sit on the shelf, so we felt it would be good to wrap up the TOWIS project with a final video before we start work on the follow-up."
"For awhile now I've wanted to incorporate footage from 'Haxan' into one of our visual projects," adds Dave, "and this seemed like the perfect time to do it. The live footage was too low quality to release on its own, but it looked too cool to discard. This offered the perfect solution to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak."
